Family Tree

The three charts below show the stages of development of the Mackenzie/Chambers family tree* - from the first hand-drawn pages made in 1973, to the first digital version compiled in 2019. To view/download the latest version of the tree, click on the button at the foot of the page.

Version 1 - 1973 (M. Kelsey)

The first drawing was on a single page of paper that quickly became several pages stuck together. It was drawn following a small family gathering in London in 1973, when some distant relatives from the Buik family visited the UK from their home in the USA.

Version 2 - 1982 to 1992 (D. Kelsey)

During the late 1970s, the family tree content increased with research done by Dennis Kelsey (through the UK National Records Office) and in 1982 he hand-drafted a more extensive chart. Over the next ten years he continued to add new data by hand. Date information was recorded separately and cross-referenced to names in the tree by using the alphabet to indicate the relevant generation.

Version 3 - 2019 (M. Kelsey)

The family tree data was first input into a digital file in 2009, initially on the paternal side of the family. It was not until 2019 that the Mackenzie/Chambers data was input and redrawn in a digital file and subsequently expanded further.
